A new covers compilation album called Sounds Eclectic: The Covers Project will be available at Starbucks Coffee Shops on March 13 reports Pitchfork with a host of top names covering some legendary tracks.
Here is a rundown of who’s doing what:
Flaming Lips do Radiohead’s ‘Knives Out’ and REM do the John Hartford penned Glen Campbell hit ‘Gentle on My Mind’.
M. Ward covers David Bowie’s 1983 chart topper ‘Let’s Dance’ and Rufus Wainwright and Chris Stills perform Neil Young’s classic 1972 track ‘Harvest’.
Robert Plant revisits he’s old band Led Zeppelin for a new version of ‘Black Dog’ whilst modfather Paul Weller does a rendition of Rose Royce's 1978 top 3 hit ‘Wishing on a Star’
Not for the first time, Damien Rice covers Radiohead's breakthrough single ‘Creep’ and KD Lang will cover the classic Leonard Cohen track ‘Hallelujah’, which has previously been covered by Damian Rice, Bono, Rufus Wainwright and Jeff Buckley.
